After years working in the County Clerk's office, Matt Grandone is now running to for County Clerk to continue the great work already in place, while continuing to advance the office in an ever changing world of election administration. As the Director of Training for the office, he has worked in every area of the office, including elections, vital records, and property tax extension.
Born and raised in Urbana, Matt is dedicated to our local community. Fair elections are critical to a strong community, and Matt will continue to make sure voting is accessible to all and that votes are counted accurately.
Matt has led recent technological advances in the office, including bringing electronic pollbooks to every polling place, increasing efficiency, making voting faster, and reducing costs. He's now working to bring digital signatures into the polling place to further enhance the voting process and to lower costs after the election.
Matt holds a Bachelor of Arts from Illinois Wesleyan University in Bloomington, IL. He is a graduate of Champaign County United Way's Emerging Community Leaders program. He currently resides in Urbana with his wife Jackie and their two boys, Michael and Ryan.
