Have you followed the problems in the Champaign County Treasurer's Office for the last 18 months? After decades of extraordinary service by Republicans, two Democrats in succession have mismanaged the office, creating problems for local taxpayers, homeowners, businesses and local government bodies.
Because the elected County Treasurer resigned midterm, the election for County Treasurer will be on the ballot this November. Democrats have already slated someone for the office who is inexperienced but politically well connected.
The Republican Party intends to nominate a well qualified person who can capably clean up the problems in the office and then move it forward in the future.
Are you that person? Do you have the qualifications to be part of the team that manages County finances?

Champaign County Republicans are proud to present to voters experienced and well-qualified candidates for Circuit Clerk (Katie Blakeman), Recorder of Deeds (Mark Shelden), Coroner (Duane Northrup) and Auditor (Gary Maxwell). Now we hope to add the same level of experience and expertise to the ticket in a Treasurer's candidate so that we can fulfill our promise of good government to the citizens of Champaign County.
